Assembling Our Own Walls Revised!!

As promised, here is the audio from my sermon on April 18.  Please listen for the bricks.  I would welcome any comments since I never really got any from the last post.  It has been brought to my attention that the first link may not have worked.  Please try the second, I believe it works now.

I had one of our monthly mentoring meetings today with Peter Goerzen and called attention to your blog site. I just read the message you recently shared with the Grace Hill congregation regarding your experience of depression.

I want to strongly affirm both the fact that you had the courage and vulnerability to share and the way in which you shared. It is a moving story and I'm sure will touch the lives of others in ways you may never know. I trust that this will be an important step in the Grace Hill faith community becoming the kind of sharing community that the church is really meant to be. Your comments based on the parable of the log and the eye I find very engaging. I also like the way in which you refer to the building of walls, and the tearing them down brick by brick. Wonderful picture illustrations.

I am also very pleased that you found Prairie View to be a safe place where you were able to find healing and hope. As the chair of the board at Prairie View I am especially pleased to learn of your experience and to know that our work does clearly have and impact on persons such as you through our staff and administration.

I trust that you will continue to find strength and healing from those around you, especially in the communities of faith both at Grace Hill and Bethel College.

Thanks for making this available in this way.
