Camp Mennoscah Update

So it’s been a significant amount of time since my last post, mostly because I’ve been too tired.  This summer has been hectic, to say the least.  We just finished our sixth week of campers, seventh camp and we’re into the home stretch, two more weeks left.  Throughout my time at camp I have come to learn several valuable lessons.  Here is my list of things to know before you spend a summer at camp.
1.  Mosquitoes are able to and frequently do bite through clothing.
2.  After consistent weeks, the river always feels the temperature of pee.
3.  Taco Salad does, in fact, taste better when eaten with your face.
4.  No matter how hard your try, sand will always be everywhere.
5.  The only real benefit being a summer staffer has over being a counselor is FANS!
6.  Whispering quiets Pre-Junior campers but not Middle Schoolers
7.  Campers trying to use legs to dunk before having legs shaved, really REALLY hurts
8.  Capers trying to use legs to dunk after shaving, not so much
9.  Even pee temperature river water feels good on a 102 degree day
10.  Poison Ivy has berries when it gets bigger
11.  Borrow the balls creates more camp injuries than all other recreation forms combined
12.  Singing camp songs so many times you hear them in your sleep is still better than any pop song
13.  Camp lyrics make any song better.
14.  Each camp age has its benefits……………and its weaknesses
15.  Fruit is a rarity at camp so eat as much as you can when available.

Each one of these points has at least one story behind it.  If you want to hear them just ask and I will be happy to share.
Peace and Love,
Daniel
